We are close to Queensland 's premier subtropical botanic gardens, the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens with shaded picnic areas, tranquil Japanese Garden , Planetarium Lakeside restaurant, free guided walks. The Brisbane Planetarium with daily shows of the southern hemisphere sky at night is also on the same site.

Drive a little further or take the bus and you can visit the Mt Coot-ha look-out point with stunning views of Brisbane and the tower blocks of the CBD. You can have a quick snack in the café or enjoy a meal with a view in the restaurant. At night, the vista of city lights is simply stunning.

One of Brisbane ’s better known secrets is the City Cat river bus which operates a frequent service up and down the nearby Brisbane River . This is an excellent and inexpensive way to see the sights of Brisbane as the river meanders through the CBD and many suburbs. It is also possible to cycle up the Bicentenary Cycleway alongside the river and return via the City Cat service.

If you want to enjoy some shopping during your visit, there are two major shopping malls nearby in Toowong and nearby Indooroopilly, and it is only about a 15 minute drive to the shopping malls in the City centre.
